Josiah W Shelton

Born in Patrick County, Virginia to Giles Shelton and Nancy Spencer, they lived just over the county line in Franklin.

Josiah enlisted at Young's Store in Franklin County into Company B of the 57th VA Infantry. Josiah is also a grandson to Josiah and Fathey Ford Shelton.

Subsequent cards state that he rec'd injuries including a fracture of the thigh, at the Battle of Gettysburg and died soon thereafter on July 27, 1863.
